Ben Bar-Orian
Ben is one of Mosaic Island’s home-grown talents! Having joined us following the completion of his Computer Science degree in 2015, Ben is a Software Test Engineer in our Application Engineering team, working on a range of bespoke client projects.
What initially attracted you to Mosaic Island?
I was initially attracted to Mosaic Island as I had admiration for the scope of expertise within the organisation and respect for the core principles of the business. Building long term trust and value for clients was something I wanted to be part of.
Was there a particular moment when you knew you’d made the right decision to join?
It didn’t take long for me to notice a sense of positive focus and pride on the work being completed within my team - that is when I knew joining was the right decision.
Can you describe a typical day in the life of your role (if there is one!)
We have a daily team call reflecting on work being done primarily on and around that day. The job is varied however the majority of work is focused on writing and executing tests.
How have you progressed your career with us?
Whilst being at Mosaic Island I've progressed from a manual software tester to a person that is competent in both manual and automated testing techniques. I've also gained both practical and theoretical expertise in both software design, DevOps and IT consultation. Mosaic Island has helped with this in many ways including accredited training courses.
Is there anything you’re particularly proud of or favourite project since you joined Mosaic Island
A key moment of success is when Mosaic Island migrated the Which? consumer association core IT system into the cloud. This is one of many projects I am proud to have worked on.
